Получила от нашей библиотеки просьбу подедржать, и делюсь со всеми.Не только наша библиотека (благодаря денежно сберегающей работе Белого дома) пострадает, другие библиотеки и музеи- тоже.

Nearly all employees at the Institute of Museum and Library Services, an agency created by Congress to support American museums and libraries, were put on administrative leave Monday, according to a Trump administration official. An IMLS employee and a union representing them said all employees were put on leave, but an administration official said 20% of IMLS employees were not/ IMLS has approximately 77 employees and was created by Congress as an independent federal agency in 1996 through the Museum and Library Services Act to support American museums and libraries. Last year, the institute awarded $267 million in grants across the country, with a focus on helping to organize book drives and museum field trips in areas without existing access to libraries or museums.

Доля именно федерального вкалада - небольшая (3%), и идет преимущественно на публичные программы (библиотеки кроме книг ведут разные проекты,с вязанные с образованием и развитием), однако, для таких  организаций (как и для школ) любые % средств -играют роль.
"As we approach National Library Week, April 6-12, there's no better time to support your local libraries. Here at City Public Library, both staff and community members are voicing strong concerns about the future of federal funding for libraries, and I want to ensure you stay informed and empowered to take action.
This afternoon, we heard from our colleagues at the California State Library that all staff of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) were put on administrative leave, effective today. While proposed cuts to IMLS put federal funding at risk, it’s important to understand what that means for us. Federal funding makes up about 3% of  City Public Library’s budget, but its impact reaches far beyond that. Through the IMLS Grants to States program, California State Library has helped us introduce several  innovative programs that benefits citizens We also rely on federal support through California Library Literacy Services, which funds our Project READ program. While it’s unclear whether these programs are directly at risk, now is the time to speak up and advocate for the library services that enrich our community."
